Join Our Team!

We are accepting applications and reviewing resumes, right now, to fill several positions. If you know someone with a passion for the outdoors, an impressive work ethic, a positive attitude, and a teachable mindset, we'd love to hear from them about the opportunities with Dogwood Land Management!

This posting is for summer interns, as well as those seeking immediate part time and full time, temporary employment. (This opportunity has the potential to be extended into permanent employment, but that is not guaranteed.) Duties will vary, and be split between Wildlife Habitat Technician and General Laborer. Ideal candidates will be ambitious, hardworking, sharp minded, able to use good judgement and make sound decisions in difficult situations. Work will be physically demanding, and mostly outdoors regardless of temperatures and weather. We work in the timber and prairies, river bottoms and high ridges, and places with natural beauty that will take your breath away. But, it is not all glamour. Our team members get very dirty, very hot, cut, stung, bitten, poked, bruised, sometimes frustrated and often exhausted. You will hike a lot, over difficult terrain. You must be reliable, hard working, and teachable. Knowledge of tree and plant ID is preferred, but we will train the right applicant. Chainsaw experience is highly preferred. Some heavy equipment operating experience is a strong bonus. Work is mostly outdoors and largely weather dependent. Duties are physically demanding, but very fulfilling for someone who appreciates nature. Despite the sometimes brutal nature of the work, employees should find it very rewarding and fulfilling. If you don't, either you're doing it wrong, or for the wrong reasons. We also strive to create a spiritually supportive environment, where we minister to one another, and we pray together before we begin work. We are a Christian owned and operated company, and conduct ourselves as such. If this bothers you, this may not be the right fit.

For these positions, employees must: have somewhat flexible schedules; be available to work 24 to 40 hours per week; and, work long hours in a given day (sometimes Saturdays, but not Sundays). Housing will not be provided, and no health insurance or retirement will be available, at this time. For logistical reasons, candidates should have their own local housing and reliable transportation. Base of operations will be the DLM shop, in rural North Henderson, IL. Wage depends upon experience, knowledge, qualifications and ability to perform. We expect a lot, but treat our employees well. Contact us at (309)368-0370, to speak with Chase Burns about this opportunity. To apply, email your resume to chase@dogwoodoutdoors.com.
